These aren’t like waterproof over trousers, they are more proper mountain biking trousers. If we were shallow we’d recommend them for that reason alone, but we don’t have to make that compromise because these are fantastic.

They wear like a slouchy jean, with a zipped ankle that can be adjusted very neatly for rinding. The hem is also adjustable, which is very good for tall riders who often end up with damp ankles. The waist is excellent – good and high at the back with secure adjustment. The wicking lining on the inside of the waistband is a comfort touch that means you don’t get the sweaty feel of waterproof fabric right against the skin. Made from the same material as the three-quaters, its more fluid handle probably helps the success of the shape because it doesn’t stick out, and has the same heavier duty rear and durable quality. They are warm, but we’d choose them for much more extended riding than we’ll ever usually consider for a full waterproof trouser. Long front vents that you can unzip for long climbs underline that. If you have to stay dry on the trail or on a commute, take a look.
